Why choose children & babies as your subjects?
Childhood is such a fleeting time; so having a portrait that encapsulates those memories is really important. Working with children is incredible because I love capturing the essence of their little personalities. Being a mother, I’ve realized how special it is to have a portrait of your child at an age that is so endearing and innocent. Children’s portraiture allows you to preserve these moments forever.

What is the most challenging part of being a mom?
Motherhood in general is wonderfully rewarding and remarkably challenging. The most difficult aspect of being a mother is finding the time and sanity to accomplish the things you want for your family as well as for yourself.

The best thing your Mom taught you?
My mother has taught me many wonderful things and continues to do so. The greatest values my mother taught me were to treat others with dignity and respect, love unconditionally, to work hard and never give up – especially when things are difficult, and to know myself and trust my gut.

What is the most important thing to teach your students?
I have always wanted my students to feel valued and to have a sense of wonder and excitement towards learning. I believe that all students are artists – they just need to find their creative vehicle and embrace it.
