I have yet to get it together enough to create the tree of my dreams. Each year I say, “next year will be the one”. My Mom always out does herself with a beautiful tree that looks so well put together while I’m still contemplating my color theme. Currently I’m working with hammy down ornaments including some crystal chandelier pieces my grandma used on one of her several little themed trees. As a child I was in awe of all her trees, my favorite was the white one with all the mirrors, crystals, white birds and old school candles.
Perhaps someday I will recreate grandma’s tree but til then I will be looking into some creative budget conscious options like this crafty idea from HGTV.com. Designer Eddie Ross decks a tree with Kathie Lee Gifford. Click her for photos and a how to guide. I just hope Daddy (the Hubby) doesn’t mind me tearing into his old shirts.
